Please tell me I am wrong!! “Regular banking ittistunions” are required to keep roughly one dollar for every ten dollars they lend out. “Investment bank corporations” (i.e. Merril Lynch, Goldman Sax) kept roughly one dollar for every thirty to forty dollars they lent out. If they have a default rate of fifty percent, that would mean fifteen to twenty dollars lent out for every dollar held in reserve by those “investment bank corporations are valued at zero. For arguments sake, if the total held by financial ittistunions were 1 trillion dollars, that would mean fifteen to twenty trillion dollars if defaulted assets. How and who make that up, so they do not go into bankruptcy? I would think the real looming economic disaster. P.S. What about the credit default swaps that go with the fifteen or twenty trillion?

This is one of those things that makes me wneodr whether I'm some sort of freak even though as a kid I thought climbing Ayers Rock one day would be neat, when I learnt as an adult that the tribal owners felt that it was a desecration of Uluru then that was the end of that ambition, totally. As soon as I learnt that a whim of mine would cause emotional/spiritual pain to othes, then that whim evaporated. I simply cannot grok people who dress whims up as dreams and then act like they have a special right to see these dreams come true.Sure, one's needs may sometimes require over-riding the sensitivities of others. A very strong ambition for a long term goal that will make a big difference to a lot of people could be a want that one might decide is worth pursuing over the opposition of others. But placing the fulfilment of a fucking whim over the deep and abiding objections of other people? It's just fucking rude.

Thank you for your kind words Mathdelane, it was definitely my plusreae to attend WordCamp Philippines, and visit Manila in the first place. You all have a thriving blogging community there which is really impressive and great to see, so it was a lot of fun to be able to come over and share some of what's going on both with WordPress, and some of the other projects it has inspired. Hopefully the new media tools in 2.9 will go a long way towards improving that part of WordPress which is admittedly a bit weak right now!

I had never tasted ISB until we rentcely ate at the Colonial Tavern, an Irish Pub in Fredericksburg, VA. They served it with raspberry butter before our meal. It was wonderful as was the meal. It did not have raisins or carraway seeds in it so when I found your recipe online, I chose to omit those. Aunt Nora's recipe tasted exactly like the Pub's. I made it for breakfast this morning and not liking my attempt at raspberry butter, served it with just butter and strawberry preserves. The 4 of us finished off both loaves. My husband loved the mildly sweet flavor and the course yet moist texture. I used bread flour vs. all purpose and used my mixer just enough to combine the ingredients, then finished it with light hand kneeding. It was sticky but I resisted the urge to add flour and handle it. I divided evenly into 2 round mounds and placed in 9 greased pans, pressing a long bread knife into it to form the X. With a fast oven, I baked only 30 minutes, just when the tops began to lighly tan and it was firm to touch. I immediately wrapped the loaves in clean kitchen towels after removal. 15 minutes later, we were in heaven. Thank you for sharing the recipe. I will make this again and again.

We visited last year, found it inbldeicre. Had absolutely no desire to climb it (and nor did our friends, who have much less connection to Anangu culture than us).The Anangu Tours we went on were terrific, offered a far more fascinating experience than climbing the rock could, and we all enjoyed the experience enormously. There is plenty to do the walks around the rock are great, the cultural centre is well done, etc. I suspect for most tourists who are there for only a short visit, their experience would actually be improved by forcing them to experience the other aspects of the Uluru area, such as walking around the rock learning some of the myths. If the government is really worried about the tourist experience, they should subsidise some of the people involved with Anangu Tours and the cultural centre to provide more on site cultural information around the rock, which might also help with the ongoing chronic poverty of the Mutitjulu community.
